Snip Snip Here...Snip Snip There

These evening Jordyn decided to cut her hair.

By herself.

I was just finishing up dressing from my shower when I hear...

"I cut my hair".

I panic.

I run from the closet to find Jordyn with what I guess you could call bangs. She was rather proud of herself I might add.

I'm not going to say that I handled the situation with grace. I won't even try to front. I totally freaked. I just sat there and starred at her saying
"What did you do? What did you do?".
I put my hand over my mouth and just starred in shock.
I wasn't mad, I was just in shock because she knows better. Sydney did this over the summer and I think I freaked about that incident too. Ha!

I asked her, "Why did you cut your hair?"

~ Word for word ~

Jordyn says while crying: "Well. I needed to get the jelly out."

Bryan: "Jelly? What jelly".

Jordyn: "Well. When I was 4 years old I got jelly in my hair."

Me: Silent and still in shock.

After brushing her hair I realize the whole thing could have been so much worse. She cut the hair front and center. One section near her ear is longer than the section over her eyes. All in all she did a great job with some pretty straight cuts. The best part is she didn't do any of those super short cuts that you can't do anything with.
Whew.

I evened out the front section. It naturally falls to the side so you really can't tell she cut it unless you pull her hair back for a pony tail. I think this is what bothered her the most because the girl likes to wear her some ponytails. I know I could go ahead and cut bangs, but I just don't want to go that route so we will pull it all to the side (as shown) for a while. :)

She informed us that she will not be going back to school because her friends will make fun of her. I assured her that no one would even know or make fun of her.

I guess every kid has to give themselves their own haircut, which means I have 2 down and one more to go!

Aw look at those tears. I guess not so good after she realized the effects of it. Looks SUPER cute pulled to the side though! The great thing is that hair grows and she cut in the best place!! Love your family stories...looking forward to ours later in life...NOT ;)

Bless her, she's proper upset. It'll soon grow back and with some careful hair styling you cant tell.
