I heart summer.

I look forward to summer every year. To say that I love summer is an understatement. I love everything about it. The sun, the pool, the laid back schedule...even the heat.

It's the beginning of June and Georgia is already bringing the heat. It's not normally in the 90's on a daily basis here at this point so it will be interesting to see what July and August will hold for us. Since it's sweltering, we have been spending our time at my mom's pool (one of my favorite places). It's too hot not to have water involved in our summer fun so despite the high gas prices, we make the 25 minute drive to mom's house and make a day of it.

The kids are fish. They stay in the water from the time we arrive until the time we leave taking only potty, lunch and ice cream breaks. Since all the kids fair pretty well on their own in the pool it has allowed Bryan and I to actually sit, relax and enjoy. It's been several years since we have actually relaxed at the pool. I guess that is a plus side to the kiddos getting older.

Friday's at the pool were dubbed "Pool Friday's" many years ago. We have several friends and family join us on Friday's for a fun day at the pool. Typically the day starts off with swim lessons. This past Friday was Bryce and Jordyn's first swim lesson of the season. Ms. Kelly has been coming to my mom's house for several years now to give the kids swim lessons. I love private swim lessons and highly recommend them if you can arrange it. I think it is a bonus the kids get to take lessons with their friends in an environment they are comfortable with.

This is Max...one of our swim buddies. Yea, he is pretty cute. ;)

Bryce did AWESOME. He loves the water. I was so proud of him. He listened to everything Ms. Kelly said and followed directions so well. This is the first time he has had any sort of outside guidance so I'm hoping this a preview of how things will go with Preschool this fall. :) Jordyn did some great swimming also...sans floaties! I think she will be swimming on her by the end of the summer.
