Destin Soccer Shootout!

After an exciting season that ended in the girls winning the Athena B championship Jordyn's u14 team headed to Destin, Florida for their post season tournament. We skipped school on Friday the 17th and left early in the morning so we could get a little beach time in before the games started on Saturday. We made it to Destin around lunch and went straight to the beach to meet up with some other team mates for some fun in the sun. Around three we left so we could check into our Airbnb.  I have never booked an Airbnb so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was great! We had a 3 bedroom house that we shared with 2 other mom/daughter teammates. We spent half of what we would have spent on a hotel and we had more room so it was a good move. Plus our house came with a golf cart that we drove to dinner that first night, which was a fun(ny) experience.

The first game on Saturday was played against a team from Dothan, AL and their second game on Saturday was played against a team from Destin, FL.
They won both games, which put them into the finals.

Saturday night we had a team pizza dinner at the beach, which ended up being so much fun for the girls AND the parents.

 Roommates for the weekend.

 Some of the parents.

Sunday we headed to the fields for the final against CFC Red Star (Columbus, GA). The game ended in a tie of 1 to 1, which sent us into PKs. We ended up losing 3 to 1 on the PKs. Such a heartbreaker, but the girls played some great soccer all weekend long.

Henna tattoos and lunch at Lulu's before the finals.

 Team prayer before the game.

The kicker is the tournament ran out of medals.
WHAT?! How does that happen?

Fantastic Spring season for the Impact u14g Elites.
Way to go girls!

Next up... tryouts Fall season - June 4th through June 6th.
